No. B/47 ANCIENT FAIRYTALE: In 2022 the autumn-foliage was again somehow very different from normal. After a hot and very dry summer the trees started to partly throw off wilted but still green leaves. The majority of the leaves , though, the trees kept in a greenish yellow color. Only very late in the year at the end of November the leaves turned into a more orangy and deeper yellow. That's when this foto was taken.

No. B/46 - SUN-BEAMS: This day's dense fog reluctantly cleared in the late afternoon, last remains drifting through the woods. The sun-beams casting lightspots on the forest-floor.

No. B/39 - FRAGILE TOUGHNESS: As a result from the past droughts and from vermins extensive clearings have been cut into the forest. At the edge of such a clearing these birch trees caught my attention.  They look so fragile but are so tough.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/08 - LUSH GREEN MAGIC FOREST: During springtime in 2022 it was such a delight to enjoy the lush green and the carpet of wild garlic in this forest... Not knowing how dried out and brown this would look like in late August, the trees curling and throwing off their leafs being in serious drought-stress.

 Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/41 - SqueakIn spring I discovered this Copper Beech among all the other "normal" beeches. Quite a contrast - to me the colors almost "squeak".

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/21 - ILLUMINATION: One day I discovered this small grove with birch-trees. That winter offered few clear skies and it took weeks until I got this cloudless sunset, bathing the birches in a deep orange.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/19 - ASPIRINGSomehow I was attracted by the tangle of these different tree-trunks, the smaller tree aspiring in their middle.

 Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/44 - FOREST LIGHTHOUSE: In late autumn all the trees eventually had lost their foliage or discolored into darker hues. Only the larches had some  of their shining needles left.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/37 - AUTUMN GOLD: In 2018/19 we experienced a long spread drought in Germany. I have a feeling that this is the cause for somehow slightly different hues of autumn colors I haven't noticed in former years.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/38 - POTBOURRI: After a long drought late autumn presented these very rich and different hues of red, letting almost every single tree stand out and creating a potbourri of reds, embedding gold and green.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/16 - LIGHTGLOW: A strong autumn-storm was approaching that evening, foreboding sleet -showers and gusts whipping across the mountains, temperature dropping rapidly.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/17 - BOTTOM TO TOP: Spring started a bit later in that year. The lush green leafs started out to grow rather towards the bottom of the forest and stood out against the still grey-brown tops.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/28 - DESERTED: It is not common being able to savour deserted beaches in Europe. It was gorgous standing on top of these cliffs, smelling the fresh sea air.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/03 & 34 - SPOT ON YELLOW & SPECKLED PURPLE: It was mid-march when a cold-front blew gusts of icy wind across this ridge. Towards sunset gaps in the clouds occasionally illuminated the birch trees. Later, just about sunset, the light took on a magenta hue in the illuminated parts of the clouds and also on the trees. Other areas of the sky stayed in that cold, blue hue of a late overcast day.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/04 - MIGHTY AND STRONG, BUT NOT INVULNERABLE: I was fascinated by this massive tree-trunk lying in a riverbed, obviously washed down by a huge torrent coming from the mighty mountains.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100,  [4TH FAPA, Awarded Entry]

No. B/26 - THE GOLDEN BEACH: Strong winds had churned up the ocean and the sun bathed the beach in golden light as it went towards sunset.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/10 - SECRET GEM: During winter-time many well-visited spots in the alps are abondoned - exactly what I am looking for. Coincidentaly I found this amazing gorge. But the reason why being secluded during that time can also be a pain in the rear end. There were piles of snow and I had to fight my way into this little secret world... well worth it!!

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/24 - TIMELESS: It was a rainy day in spring at the french Atlantic coast, the beach deserted. For a few minutes the sun peaked through... time didn't matter at that moment.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/25 - DANCE OF LIGHT: It had been raining all day. In the late afternoon the strong wind managed to blow all the dark clouds away. For a short time the cloud-gaps in the transition zone to blue skies created beams of light which moved quickly across the water before the weather completely cleared up.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/07 - LONELY: Standing on the cliffs all by myself, watching this wave break far beneath in the vast expanse of the ocean.

Sizes: 16:9 / 64x36, 112x63, 128x72, 160x90

No. B/05 - LAND OF THE SORCERER: I couldn't believe my luck having found this beautiful waterfall and being completely on my own. It was strenuous though, clambering up a steep slope beside the brook and not spoiling the vegetation. Additionally steady rain made it difficult to photograph.

Sizes: 2:3 / 60x40, 90x60, 120x80, 150x100

No. B/14 - GREEN GORGE: It was a cloudy day, but sometimes weak sunrays peered through the clouds and the branches and lit the mossy patches.
